Pianist Jeremy Reger is currently a vocal coach and the Head of Music Staff and the Choir Master of Eklund Opera at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He is also the music director and coach for CU New Opera Workshop (CU NOW), a workshop-style interactive performance which features acclaimed opera composers working with CU singers on new operas on their way to professional world premiers. In addition to his duties at the university, Dr. Reger maintains a busy performing schedule.

Prior to his appointment in Colorado,  he served as faculty at Christopher Newport University, and Indiana University.  Dr. Reger also served as musical staff with Music Academy of the West, National YoungArts, Opera Studio of Recife in Brazil, Hawaii Opera, Virginia Opera, Minnesota Opera, Skylark Opera,  Eugene Opera, Central City Opera and Mill City Opera. He also performed with the Virginia Symphony, and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.

Dr. Reger also maintains a strong belief in music with his own community. As the director of CU Boulder’s Opera Theater Singers, Reger programs various concerts throughout the front range for vocalists to connect with their community and explore what outreach means for a new generation of performers.

A graduate of the Minnesota Opera Studio, Jeremy holds degrees from The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, and The University of Michigan, where he earned a doctoral degree and studied with Martin Katz.
